How a WhatsApp click-to-chat link works
WhatsApp's official wa.me link opens a chat with any number — the customer does not need to save your number first, and you do not need to save theirs. Add ?text= and the message is already typed; they only tap send.
The format is https://wa.me/<country code + number>?text=<message>. The number must have the country code and no plus sign, zero, spaces or dashes. For India that means 91 followed by the 10-digit mobile number, e.g. wa.me/919876543210. This tool cleans whatever you paste — a leading 0, +91, spaces, dashes — and warns when an Indian number does not have 10 digits or does not start with 6–9.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to save the customer’s number to message them?
No. A wa.me link opens a chat with any WhatsApp number directly, without saving it in your contacts.
Why does my link not open the right chat?
The number must include the country code without +, 0 or spaces — for India, 91 plus the 10-digit mobile number (for example 919876543210). This tool formats it for you and warns if the digits look wrong.
Can I send a message in Hindi or with emojis?
Yes. The message is URL-encoded, so Hindi (Devanagari), Hinglish and emojis all arrive exactly as typed.
Is my customer’s number stored anywhere?
No. The link and QR code are made inside your browser. Your last message is remembered only on this device so you can reuse it; nothing is uploaded.
Can I use the link without a phone number?
Yes. Leave the number empty and the link becomes wa.me/?text=… — WhatsApp then asks which chat to send the message to. Useful for sharing an offer.
How do I make a WhatsApp QR code for my shop?
Enter your own business WhatsApp number and a starting message such as “Hi, I want to order”, then tap Download QR. Print it on bills, boards or visiting cards.
